Our cottage was clean and cozy. It had everything we needed. Our hosts were great. The beds were very comfortable. My only criticism was that the sofa and chair in the Palace were very uncomfortable. As someone with significant spinal issues, it's imperative I have a comfortable supportive seat after a long day.

This was our first time to Manitoulin Island and to Viva Villa. We were not disappointed. From the moment we arrived we were blown away by the beauty of this place. The cottages are charmingly rustic but well equipped with everything you need. It was very cozy especially with the wood burning stove warming us up on a chilly evening. They also are centrally located to several of the islands attractions as well as a couple of towns where you can stock up on everything you need and don’t have to take too much time out of relaxing to do it. There are also plenty of things to do and we found ourselves wanting to stick around the cottage quite a bit. Even our young child was quite entertained with the variety of amenities on the property. He didn’t want to leave at the end of the week. None of us wanted to. I highly recommend renting a boat during your stay. We were very happy we did for the week we were there. It was the best way to enjoy the crystal clear waters of Lake Kagawong and get in some incredible fishing too. The option to take the boat on the short ride up the river and pick up a pizza was a novelty in itself. Our incredible hosts, Kate and Scott were very responsive and helpful from the moment we reached out to book our stay and kept us up to date with any information we needed before arrival. Everything was ready when we arrived and they were easily accessible all week if we needed anything. They also shared their knowledge of the island and helped us make choices to get the most out of our trip. It’s obvious that Kate and Scott take pride in what they do and really care about their guests. It was great to sit around the communal fire with them and chat in the evenings. Within the first couple of days we had already decided that we are definitely going back next year. Thanks to Kate and Scott for our new found family tradition. It is greatly appreciated.

Scott and Kate, the hosts, were amazing. Kate replied to all my emails almost immediately after I sent each. The cabin we reside in was super cute. Scott shared some info with me about the fishing spots they have around them which was very kind of him. I caught 2 small mouth Bass and 5 Perch. Deer walks around you while you are living there. Ducks, and wild Turkeys were cute. Viva Villa was super close to the Bridal Veil Falls which was perfect. All in all, we enjoyed our first time ever trip to the island and definitely the Viva Villa was a major part of that fun. Thank you so much!!

We had an absolutely wonderful time staying at the Viva Villa cottage, specifically in the Fawn cottage. The location is simply fantastic right on the serene shores of Lake Kagawong, offering breathtaking views and a peaceful atmosphere that made our getaway truly relaxing. Kate and Scott, the hosts, were exceptional. They were warm, welcoming, and incredibly helpful throughout our stay, always ready to assist with anything we needed. It really made us feel at home. The cottage itself was well equipped with everything necessary for a comfortable and enjoyable stay. We especially loved the amenities: the sauna, the BBQ grill, campfire, and watercrafts including kayaks, a canoe, and a paddleboard. These added so much fun and adventure to our days on the lake. Overall, our experience at Viva Villa was fantastic, and we highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful lakeside retreat with great hosts and excellent facilities. We can’t wait to return!

I had so much fun at Viva Villa I did not want to leave. Between playing horseshoes, using their canoes/boats, biking, swimming, and enjoying their fire, I never lacked things to do. Even after getting too much sun, they had satellite TV to watch while relaxing, or wildlife to watch in the river. Kate and Scott are so friendly and accommodating, I felt very welcome. Groceries and restaurants are so close there isn't much need to venture far. I definitely recommend staying here. The price is right!

Great vacation spot for rest and relaxation. Calm waters that are shallow so great for kids, water shoes are a good idea as there are rocks and shells. The water was also very warm! Perfect place for fishing, whether it was off the small docks or out on a boat that you can rent daily or for the week. Fans were provided in the Doe cottage, we also brought our own and it was helpful since the weather was hot this week! Lots of wildlife to see, duck and geese families, frogs, a muskrat and even a couple water snakes!

We stayed at Viva Villa for 2 nights in September 2023. It provides an ideal location to tour Manitoulin Island. Kate and Scott were so accommodating and friendly. They were right there waiting for us when we arrived which was wonderful and we were shown where to park and given a tour of our cabin by Scott. Our cabin was so quaint and extremely well equipped with everything you could want. It was so cozy and comfortable. We had our coffee each morning sitting in swivel chairs in front of our wood burning fire. The grounds are well kept with many areas for various games and watercraft for use. It was such a great place to call home for a few days. Our dog really enjoyed it as well. We saw lots of deer on the property which was always a treat. If you’re looking for a spot to stay on the island, look no further! You will not be disappointed. Thank you Kate and Scott for a memorable time. We hope to see you both again in the future!
